Veterinary Medicine

Where knowledge and mission meet—the possibilities of veterinary medicine
The Graduate School of Veterinary Medicine’s mission is to develop personnel with the practical skills and leadership ability to contribute to the development of veterinary science throughout the world as well as in Japan. With this in mind, we want to cultivate a broad perspective, flexible thinking, and comprehensive decision-making skills with a focus on veterinary care and animal medical science in the three main areas of Applied Veterinary Sciences, Clinical Sciences, and Environmental Veterinary Sciences.

We select undergraduate students who have a strong desire to obtain a degree in veterinary medicine from inside and outside the university, as well as personnel who are aiming to acquire a doctoral degree while being active in society. We also actively accept international students from the perspective of promoting internationalization. In addition to courses such as “Subjects on Fundamental Veterinary Science,” “Academic English,” “Subjects on Advanced Veterinary Science,” “Advanced and Comprehensive Studies on Chemical Hazard Control,” “Overseas/Domestic Internships” as well as “Research on Veterinary Science” and “Advanced Seminar on Veterinary Science” as part of the “Program for Leading Graduate Schools,” we have established “Research Ethics Seminar” as a compulsory subject, and the new “Clinical Medicine-Emphasizing Program” to develop clinicians who will become leaders.
