Walking together with the Earth—a sustainable society explored through agriculture
The Graduate School of Agriculture at Hokkaido University contributes to the well-being and sustainable development of humanity through agricultural education and research against the backdrop of Hokkaido’s fields, which are Japan's food base and blessed with a rich natural environment.

The Graduate School of Agriculture promotes the consolidation of three courses (Frontiers in Production Sciences, Frontiers in Biosciences, and Frontiers in Environmental Sciences) into one major division of study, the Division of Agriculture, to create an organization that is conscious of collaboration between subdivided specialized fields and the development of personnel with a broad vision. The Graduate School of Agriculture also has a special English course called “The Global Education Program for AgriScience Frontiers.” The aim of this educational program which is taught in English is to develop highly skilled professionals who can support globalization and the breaking down of borders in the fields of food and farming, health, and the environment.
